Inca "Sun Basket"
About the hat:
A hat reminiscent of traditional basket weaving, this beauty has a sunkissed
look, done in shades of ochre, green,rust brown, and a hint of deep blue. Ridges
and lacework run around the back perimeter and it is embellished with three
tassels.
This is a beautiful combination of hand dyed wool, wool/hemp and a touch of
silk. This combination creates a lightweight yet warm hat. It is one of the few
hats that I make that is totally crochet.
The hat measures approx. 11" (27.9 cm) when laid flat (at the widest point and
approx. 8 1/4" (21 cm) from top to the point right above the ridges. For
reference, the mannequin head is 21" (53.3 cm). There is stretch due to its
construction and it can fit a variety of sizes. My head measures approx. 24"
with all of my hair and it fits wonderfully. Please measure your head and send
me your measurements if you have a question about whether this hat will fit you.
It is a stunning statement, but remember....it can cause "Specialness" and you
will always have to be ready for that!
