About the hat:
This hat is a freeform creation done with a combination of techniques....
felting (fulling)and needle felting. It is a blend of merino wool, alpaca and
llama.
It is a cloche hat.... think 1920's, with just enough spunk to bring it right
into the 2000's. Simple but incredibly versatile. Incredibly playful, hence the
name "Coquette". A little bit old, a whole lot of new. She is graceful,
hand-formed... dramatic with much attitude. She is warm but lightweight, funky
and elegant.
The colors are warm grays and the hat can be worn in a numerous amount of ways.
I have added a semi-felted pin of beautiful locks and a vintage button from my
collection. (The back sports a silver plate pinback) as well as a silverplate
hatpin embellished with a matching vintage button and two pieces of red coral.
It comes with a silverplate end-tip for protection.
The hat measures approx. 11.5" (29.2 cm) when laid flat. For reference only, the
mannequin heads are 21" (53.3 cm) in circumference. Please take the time to
measure your head by using a measuring tape around your crown, going around the
largest part of your head.
